In 2009, shortly after I purchased my Canon 5D mark II, a colleague from work told a fellow photographer and I that his chosen photographer had quoted him £2,000 to shoot his Hindu wedding.

This got us both thinking about trying to help him out and so we both paired up to do it as a favour to him but to also add to our portfolios. This would be my first official gig as wedding photographer and my first experience of a Hindu wedding.

The day went extremely well and I managed to capture some of my best photographs ever. Over 150 of the final photographs were chosen to feature in their 50 page, A3, landscape album. Very big, very nice, very exciting. I'd never seen my photos printed so large before. I did all the design work myself and the couple were very pleased with the work indeed.
